This has resulted in Carson is very limited in his physical abilities. He does have sufficient vision that he can use eye gaze to “talk” with his communication device. He is doted on by his parents and older brother, 11-year-old Tanner. Carson requires a great deal of care and has a full-time nurse who also attends school with him. The greatest challenge the family has is safely bathing Carson. Although he is only 40 pounds, he has low muscle tone and is weak and unable to assist in transfers. A roll-in shower will be installed, as well as a roll-under sink, so that Carson can more safely participate in these activities of daily living.
